Food Gardens

Issue: Numerous individuals residing in South African townships face food scarcity, compounded by a lack of nutritious options. Many of them, accustomed to farming in rural areas, attempt to continue this practice in their home yards but lack essential resources like fencing, water access, compost, and seeds. The transition from farming large fields to cultivating kitchen gardens presents a significant challenge.

Goal: Encourage marginalized township residents to establish kitchen gardens, enhancing their access to nutritious food and providing an additional income source.
