These programs are the tools we use to empower households out of poverty. Please select a program to learn more, follow its progress and contribute to it.

The help desk provides consultation and referral services to anyone facing development challenges. It is open 5 days a week from 9h00 to 14h00.

Through the help desk, people enter into the other Shine programs.

Clients who are in a desperate situation can access emergency relief support. A home visit is conducted to assess and confirm the need. Relief clients have to commit to capacity-building programs. Relief includes temporary food parcels, once-off urgent household supplies and house repairs. 

Clients are encouraged to join a Life Group. Working with occupational therapists, Life Groups makes use of different tested activities and group dynamics to assist participants in addressing trauma and blockages, unleashing their potential. 

A two-day Job Preparedness training is provided to all clients interested in obtaining a job. The training covers work readiness, basic life skills, and financial literacy.  All participants develops and receives their CV. They are then added to the employment database and assisted to find a job. 

Clients participating in the enterprise development workshop are assisted in developing their micro-enterprise including budgets, pricing, marketing materials and a business plan. Selected enterprises are granted a microfinance loan and continued support.

Employment and Enterprise Development participants can partake in skills development training relevant to their career choice. These training sessions are provided by members of the Sunshine NGO Forum who have exceptional knowledge and experience in the skill area. 

Implement a youth campaign covering topics such as substance abuse, life skills, HIV/AIDS and protective behaviours. Broadcast this event through traditional media platforms, social media and events. Provide the youth access to diverse activities, skills development and income opportunities.

Working closely with ECD and After School Enrichment Centres, support them with infrastructure, capacity building and alternative educational opportunities for their learners.

Identifying existing growers and assisting them to increase produce via sustainable environment-enriching food gardens while having access to offset markets.

Establishing tech hubs for the youth and community to gain free internet access, participate in online training programs, and learn tech-based income-generating skills and gaming.

Mitigate the availability of illegal substances while creating awareness of substance abuse and offering support to those affected by it.
